Project Overview
Through the Circulate research program this studio focuses on topics surrounding complex socio-technical systems, integrating design for services, interactive artifacts, information and technology for the prevention of chronic disease through human-centric approach. Utilizing the LEDE process, multi-disciplinary teams built on previous data and context to address challenges within Cardiovascular health.
Goal
As the patient-centered team our goal was to assess and build on prior Studio studies and identify opportunities in patient and health-seeking contexts. Previous projects have developed solutions for home blood pressure habits for CVD self-management, storyboards and app prototypes for lifestyle changes and concepts for increasing physical activity through informal sports. The goal this year was to accelerate the project by utilizing the LEDE cycle framework, with the intention of rearranging the process to design first followed by conducting research.

Result:
Upon completion of the project two app direction utilizing archetypes - The Scientist & The Companion - were created using Figma that catered to the target demographic. Two semi-structured focus groups were held with (1) patients and (2) doctors to gain further insights on key consideration to be implemented to the app. The prototypes were presented to our sponsors at the end of the projects and our contribution to this ongoing project was published on the official site.
Prototypes of the archetypes.
